Amici/Friends,
The world is facing, with different approaches, the Hospitality problem for those who are looking for a better life far from their countries of origin.
The expertise of JOHN D. CALANDRA Italian American Institute (Queens College/CUNY) will help ILICA to propose a complex Conference as well as the one we proposed together, back in 2011, for the celebration of Italian Unity.
Pino Aprile, Gianpiero Barbuto, Anthony J. Tamburri, Mario Gargiulo and Donna Chirico will express their opinions before answering to the questions from the audience. That is the ILICA's Conference style.
The Conference will be free and open to the public with a following reception filled with gourmet Italian specialties.
domanda a Vincenzo Marra
ILICA, Italian Language Inter-Cultural Alliance, is a not for profit foundation dedicated to the promotion of the Italian language as an instrument of understanding and study of a culture in continuous evolution, directed at Americans of Italian origin, and all those ethnic groups that share interest in learning the Italian language as a key to understanding Italian culture within the context of the 21 st century.
ILICA was founded by a small group of Italian business people who believe that the Italian language, along with literature and art, are fundamental factors in the creation of productive citizens of tomorrow. Through the use of the Italian language and the knowledge of its versatile applications, ILICA promotes events in the fields of art, medicine, science, and tourism as well as other types of initiatives that unite these two cultures.
ILICA operates within the USA and Italy. Funds raised by the ILICA foundation permit the organization to provide training courses in Italy for American teachers who teach the Italian language in grades Kindergarten through the University level. These funds have also allowed the foundation to organize events, art exhibitions as well as trade fairs specifically dedicated to the promotion of language and culture within the USA. ILICA is a not for profit foundation and has always operated with private funding and donations.
