Fellow ILICA Board member Dr. Frank Monteleone has been named Chief of the Division of Breast Services of Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, New York, which is a new multidisciplinary service within the Department of Surgery.

Widely published in international professional journals, Dr. Monteleone is known as one of the leading General and Breast Surgeons in the tri-state area. . Frank D. Monteleone, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.I.C.S., was born in Italy but completed his undergraduate education at Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus, before returning to Italy’s prestigious University of Padua to complete his Internship.
With more than 30 years of service to his patients and the Winthrop University Hospital he has become not only a highly respected surgeon, but a valued colleague and medical educator as well. He continues to dedicate his experience as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the State University of Stony Brook as well as being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International College Society of Breast Surgeons.
As a valued member of the ILICA Board, Dr. Monteleone contributes his knowledge of both his Italian and American culture and education. He has been a strong supporter of ILICA’s inter-cultural initiatives, and continues to support new concepts and strategies that define “Italian” today.
